Word Bomb is a free puzzle experience for Roblox created by OMG. The game functions slightly differently from other experiences in that it takes place on a two-dimensional screen. Word Bomb was launched on Roblox in 2018 and has seen over 50 million players since then. 

If you enjoy these types of word games, Roblox is an excellent place to find other competitive text-based experiences. However, you’ll also be in luck if you’re looking for three-dimensional role-playing experiences. If you enjoy the well-rehearsed action of the WWE, for instance, you’ll likely enjoy WWE 2K18. Words are lethal

Nowhere is this statement more accurate than within the confines of Word Bomb. More to the point, the lack of putting forth a word within the time constraints for each turn could have lethal results for your portrayed etymological prowess. 

How it works

You’ll start each round with two lives. When the time starts for your turn, you’ll be given a prompt of either two or three letters that you must use to put forth a word. The letters must follow in the order in which they are presented. 

This, no doubt, makes this an incredibly challenging game. The game supports numerous players, and the more players you have, the longer the game will last - depending on how skilled your opponents are. The more games you win, the more points you’ll be awarded. 

Interface

While the concept and execution of the broader game are incredible, the interface is where the game gets a little more complicated than it needs to be. The biggest issue is the layout of the prompts you receive. The prompts aren’t merely suggestions but more part of the eventual word you put forth. 

However, you still need to type these letters in for them to be illuminated and registered as part of the word you create. You, then, need to click either before or after those letters in order to start typing the word you intend to put forth. This makes the games a little more complicated than it needs to be. 

Challenging but fun

Word Bomb is an incredibly entertaining game, particularly if you play it with people you know. This is one of the most exciting ways to increase both your typing speed and general reaction time. 

Therefore, more than just a fun game to play with friends or strangers, Word Bomb is an excellent exercise in strengthening your mental acuity.
